That would be my opinion at this stage as there is so much uncertainty. For a team to have played so few league matches heading into January is remarkable and while the season has already been extended, there will still be huge pressure to complete the campaign as it is.

For the credibility of the league, Hudson, whose team are fourth with a game in hand on top team Hastings, insists there has to be relegation and promotions across the pyramid.

We need to find a way for promotions and relegations to take place especially as Step 1 and 2 will have finished their games so there needs to be teams relegated from those leagues to make it serious and there need to be teams from Step 3 who are able to go up. We need a solution. I understand it. So we might have some questionable calling off of matches.

It is pure speculation on our part but the FA could invite another side to step in to the space — though it is worth noting that at the time of the restructure announcement the step 4 Northern Premier League East and Southern League South divisions were all set to run with 19 teams.
